Founded in 2004, the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) personalizes the orchestral experience by inviting the audience into the musician’s world through interactive concerts with nationally and internationally recognized artists, exciting music old and new, and fun-to-read magazine-style programs promoting Family Literacy in the Arts. This innovative program features childcare coupled with music education for children ages two months through ten years.
ROCO-rooters, for children 10 and under, is a music education program during the 5 00p.m. concerts at St. John the Divine. After the concert at 6 45 p.m. childcare is available with pizza and movies until 9 30 p.m., allowing the parents to go out for post-concert entertainment. Reservations and prepayment required $20 for the first child and $15 for each additional child; ROCO-rooters regularly sells out.
