The Soul’s Cadence: Rhythmic Alignment Through Drumming and Movement (In Person)

April 3 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$100

Look to the natural rhythms that exist all around us as guides to ways of inhabiting our bodies, and to developing a deeper connection with our physical selves.

Is there a connection between neuroscience, rhythm, and movement? Can rhythmic drumming affect our brain and overall well-being? Join us for this dynamic and engaging dive into the powerful connection between rhythm, movement, and the human experience. We’ll look to the natural rhythms that exist all around us as guides to ways of inhabiting our bodies, and to developing a deeper connection with our physical selves. Explore the role that drumming has played in traditions that seek transcendent experience, and join in some drumming yourself! We’ll recognize the importance of play, learn various rhythms, and, most importantly, have fun. You will leave with an understanding of the neuroscience of rhythm and movement, as well as with materials that will help you continue to practice the drumming and movement techniques we learn.
