“Shine” The 11th Annual Acres Homes Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Opening Bell of the AHTL, which  follows the Procession of Grand Marshals, including elected officials and Community Leaders,  summon the mystical, magical appearance of Community Founders from 1913! Finding an absence of the Acres Homes Shine they once knew, they ask. “Is this Acres Homes? Where is the Acres Homes Shine?!”  Imploring all in attendance to, “Let nothing dim your Shine! Light up Acres Homes!, they weave together performances from schools, churches, and local artists into a message of resilience, unity, and community pride. With each performance, each audience participation, the Community shines brighter until the mission is accomplished and a lighted tree stands to bring holiday spirit and cheer to passers-by, symbolizing that “we are still here.”
