Parking: The closest parking is on Cleburne in Lot A-B for the TSU Rec Center. The parking lot is labeled Lot A near the TSU Post Office. Parking is free but do not park in any “Reserved” or handicap spaces without a placard. All other spaces are fine. There’s additional parking in the adjacent Lot B. Reserve your spot for The Lab @ the TSU Recreational Center. A space for skaters to get better, advance, & develop elite talent. Learn to skate from the best skaters in Houston. In the weeks ahead, we will introduce a collective of skate instructors to grow a generation of foundationally strong versatile skaters. 1:00pm – 3:00pm: Intro to Derby led by the H-Town Roller Derby Team
— Got what it takes to try Roller Derby? Join this fun, beginner friendly derby class lead by H-Town Rollers Derby team. Only $10 per class. Pay in person.
3:30pm – 4:30pm: : Levels 0-1 / Super Beginners
— For first-timers & beginners who need a small group session & a little more hands-on assistance. Beginner level class that’s great for adult Super Beginners who have never skated before or haven’t skated in a very long time & need a little more hands-on assistance. Our instructors will start with the very basics such as how to fall, how to stand up, how to move forward and turn around.
5:00pm – 6:00pm: Levels 1-2 / Beginner & Intermediate
— For skaters who are comfortable rolling & want to learn new moves including transitions, dipping, spinning, dribbles, & more, this class is for you! Also great for experienced skaters who are looking to sharpen their skills with advanced moves, such as skating backward, jumping, & crazy legs. Here you can learn how to glide like you’ve been a pro all of your life!
6:00pm – 7:00pm: All Levels / Specialty Classes
— For skaters who want to learn specific moves & skate styles, Spins, Downtown variations, Ballroom partner skating, Snaping, JB, Fast Backwards, Trains & Trios, & More!
5:00pm – 7:00pm: Open Skate Practice
— Skills, Drills, & Chill Session: Open Skate Session to practice what you’ve learned. This session is FREE if you’ve registered for a class. Its $15 if you only want to practice. Bring Your Own Skates
