Theme: To Give and To Receive
Prompt: We give blood, birthday presents, and fudge brownies. We give books, time, and valentines. On the other side of the transaction is the recipient. Receiving a kidney, a parent’s attention, a coveted letter of recommendation.
What does it mean to give? To receive? How do both actions enrich our relationships?
Tell a story about how giving or receiving something impacts a life (or several lives). The gift can be tangible or intangible, an organ or pep talk or a home-cooked meal.
Your story can be true, fictional, or a mix of both. Pack your story with engaging characters, realistic dialogues, and vivid scenes. Give us tension and dramatic action! Stories should involve some aspect of health, illness, disability, healthcare education, or caregiving. Please submit your story (600-900 words) by March 24.
