The Ismaili Council for the Southwestern USA presents the Navroz Spring Festival—a day filled with cultural activities, arts/crafts, festivities, live performances, food trucks, and traditions—at Buffalo Bayou Park.
“Navroz”—sometimes known as “Nowruz”—translates to “new day” in Persian. It marks the beginning of spring and is celebrated by various cultures, notably in Iran, Central Asia, the Middle East, and by some communities in India and Pakistan. It’s a day of immense cultural significance, symbolizing renewal, rebirth and a new future. Navroz embodies cultural heritage, unity, and the celebration of nature’s renewal.
