Houston native Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016) was one of the most important musical minds of her time. She pioneered electric music, accessibility to music-making, and most important: Deep Listening (a philosophy and practice that encompasses all of her work). This new documentary combines rare archival footage, live performances, and unreleased music with appearances by groundbreaking artists that include Laurie Anderson, Anna Halprin, Ione, Alvin Lucier, Thurston Moore, Terry Riley, and Morton Subotnik. “Deep Listening: The Story of Pauline Oliveros” is copresented with Nameless Sound.
