Take a psychological look at the aging process and explore how to deepen our experience of meaning using skills and rules for living that may be very different from what we learned in school. Our universities prepare us to check the boxes of social and material success. We learn how to get a job, how to balance a checkbook and buy a house, how, perhaps, to find a mate and have a family. But too many of us succeed in these ways and discover that we are, somehow, still unhappy and unfulfilled. The afternoon of life requires very different skills than the morning, as meaning becomes more and more important. In this discussion, Sean Fitzpatrick, executive director of The Jung Center, will take a psychological look at the aging process and explore how to deepen our experience of meaning using skills and rules for living that may be very different from what we learned in school.
