Discover the joy of mosaics and create your own original work of art to cherish and bring home with you! This spring, we are delighted to offer our Beginner Mosaic Workshop with instructor Elizabeth Gtz. Carabeo. We will provide most materials (please see list of required tools below), making this workshop an unbeatable value with tickets starting at just $160.
Over four, two-hour workshops, we will cover a brief history of the ancient art of mosaics and walk you through mosaicking step-by-step, from selecting your design to grouting and finishing your unique work of art. No prior experience is required. This course will meet Monday evenings at the Italian Cultural & Community Center (1101 Milford Street, Houston, TX 77006).

Meet Your Instructor
Elizabeth Gtz. Carabeo is a seasoned artst with a rich background spanning over 15 years in the creative realm. Her specialties include Byzantine Iconography, metal embossing, stained glass, and the intricate art of mosaics. Elizabeth discovered the passion of mosaics under the mentorship of Jacqueline Halliburton. Drawing from her degree in Fashion, she brings a unique blend of creativity and skill to her artwork, infusing it with her distinctive style and depth of expression. Elizabeth studied Byzantine Iconography for over five years under the direction of Fr. Elias from St. Basil the Great Byzantine Catholic Church. Elizabeth attended the International Center for the Arts workshop in Monte Castello di Vibio, Italy, led by Rick Shelley.
Cancellation Policy
Tuition is non-refundable, but we offer tuition credit toward a future group class if you cancel 48 hours in advance of the start of the first class. Tuition credit is valid for six months from the start date of the course. If you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, your tuition payment will be converted into a tax-deductible donation to the Italian Cultural & Community Center. You may cancel by phone at (713) 524-4222 ext. 2.
Note: The minimum enrollment is 8 students. ICCC Houston reserves the right to cancel the course and refund tuition if minimum enrollment is not met. ICCC Houston is not responsible for any fees collected by Eventbrite.
