My Connect Community (dba “Connect Community”)

Connect Community (“Connect”) fights for human potential, working alongside residents and 85+ strategic partners to create the enabling conditions for Houston’s majority newcomer families, students, and entrepreneurs in the Gulfton neighborhood to build lives of promise. Connect was formed in 2016 when its founding partners- KIPP Texas, YMCA, Legacy Health, and St. Luke’s Church- joined hands to align on a shared mission that “every child and adult in Gulfton will lead a healthy, prosperous life in a safe and vibrant neighborhood in which residents choose to live, learn, work, worship and play.” Connect is Gulfton’s “community quarterback”, engaging residents and partners to co-create a thriving, walkable neighborhood with successful schools, ample employment opportunities, vibrant green spaces, and high-quality mixed-income housing options.
