Please join us for an evening of poetry, art, and celebration: a chapbook launch party for The Art of the Spiel!
The Art of the Spiel is an experimental, collaborative series: a set of eight individual chapbooks that combine together into a portrait of the artist in plain sight. Each chapbook features an interview with a unique artist-museum worker and their art, writing, or music, paired with poetry by Joshua Gottlieb-Miller.
This chapbook launch party will feature new artworks by Kaneem Smith and Asaeda Badat, Philip Karjeker on queer monumentality, a poem by Seneca Garcia, writing from EJ Rizalde, and music by Qasim Ali. Joshua Gottlieb-Miller will read poetry inspired by his co-worker interviews. There may or may not be a surprise appearance by London Ham.
The Art of the Spiel is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
