“Tres Brisas” is Art Uniti’s temporary, public art celebrating Near Northside’s Latino culture with three, contemporary sculptures interpreting folkloric skirt movements. Sculptures unveil Sunday November 19th with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Irvington Park Pavilion followed by dance performances by Pilot Dance Project and Live Jazz by Houston Ensemble from 2pm to 4pm.
Art Uniti\’s community workshops created botanical vinyl decals at Northside’s MD Andersen YMCA and Smithers Park in October which adorn the vinyl skirts. Tami Moschioni leads Art Uniti with Jennifer Claussen, Vivianne Falco and Vanessa Sanez assisting artists. The pavilion stage springs to life with a dynamic modern interpretation of folkloric skirt movements by the Pilot Dance Project led by choreographer Adam Castaneda. Houston Ensemble delivers with an hour of dynamic live Jazz music with Armov Movsesyan, Chad Wesselcamper and Willie McCullen performing. Tres Brisas program concludes with a finale dance and farewell 10 min Jazz set. Irvington Park trees continue dancing with colorful tree skirts and ribbon wraps. thru holidays in December for photo ops.
